Join Army Medical Corps

The Pakistan Army has recently advertised openings for Medical Officers under the M-Cadet Scheme. This platform is dedicated to individuals who are passionate about joining the Pakistan Army as M-Cadets (Medical Doctors) in the Army Medical Corps (AMC). Students who are in their final semester of MBBS can apply for online registration with the Army Medical Corps (AMC).

 

Candidates from the Army Medical Corps are usually given preference due to their familiarity with the military health system, which is affiliated with NUST. They possess comprehensive knowledge of all health plans formulated by the Army Medical Corps.

Joining Army Medical Corps is a Pride

The Army Medical Corps provides distinct clinical training to students at nearby CMH (Combined Military Hospitals) or Nursing training institutes. Additionally, the Army Medical Corps includes army medicine and army dental services, with the Army Medical Department overseeing all training activities. The selection process for the dental corps is conducted separately. Students enrolled in the Army Medical Corps as M Cadets receive foundational educational training at the Army Medical College before proceeding to the Pakistan Military Academy for Military Training.

Eligibility Criteria of AMC
  • Gender: Male
  • Marital Status: Unmarried
  • Nationality: Pakistani & domicile holders of Azad Kashmir / Gilgit Baltistan. (Note: After final selection the candidate has to surrender dual nationality)
  • Selection Category: M – Cadet
  • Educational Qualification: Forth or Final Year students of MBBS of any Medical college which is recognized by PM&DC can apply.
  • Maximum Age requirement: 20 – 26 Years
  • Maximum Height required: 5’ – 4” (162.5 cm)
  • Weight required: s per body mass index
Documents required for Registration
  • Students can do online registration by self through link given below of this page or visit to the nearest Army Selection Centre.
  • The list of documents are given below which are required to bring on required date and time at Recruitment & Selection Centre.
  • Two (02) attested copies of educational certificates
  • Two (02) attested photocopies of CNIC or form B issued by the NADRA
  • Two (02) passport size photos
  • Pay order of Rs.500/- (Clearly indicating “Payable at any Branch in Pakistan” in favour of Surgeon General / DGMS (IS), Medical Directorate/ DMS-1, GHQ, Rawalpindi)
Ineligibility Criteria

A candidate is ineligible if he is:-

  • Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board.
  • Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (AMB cannot be requested).
  • Declared unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared   by   Appeal  Medical Board.
  • Withdrawn from any Academy / Training Institution of Armed Forces on any ground.
  • Withdrawn from any bounded Armed Forces college / institution on disciplinary grounds.
  • Dismissed / removed/ debarred from Govt Services including Armed Forces.
  • Convicted in a Court of Law for an   offence   involving   moral turpitude.
  • Twice Screened Out by ISSB.

Twice rejected for ‘M’ Cadets by   GHQ   /   AHQ   /   NHQ Selection Boards. The candidature of a candidate who  will  temper  his  academic certificates, conceal or give wrong info to gain undue advantage will be cancelled and declared permanently ineligible for all types of   commission   in   the   Armed Forces

Physical Tests for M Cadet in Pak Army

The candidate has to pass the following physical tests for Army Medical Corps. Normally, office of the army deals such activities. Army Surgeon General also take care of the candidates and take reports properly.  

  • Running: 6 Km in 8-1/2 Minutes
  • Push Ups: 15 Repetitions in 02 Minutes
  • Sits Ups: 15 Repetitions in 02 Minutes
  • Chin Ups: 03 Repetitions in 02 Minutes
  • Ditch Crossing: Size 7’- 4” x 7’- 4” with Depth of 4 Feet
Initial Medical Examination at selection Centre

Initial medical is being examined at army medical center where students appear for tests. Those candidates who clear the initial Intelligence & Academic tests, they will appear in initial medical examination. This examination will be normally held at the concerned Army Selection Centre. Following things are being checked at initial stage.

  • Eyesight
  • Knee Knocking
  • Arms
  • Ears
  • Chest
  • Weight
  • Height
  • Piles or Hemorrhoids
  • Scrotum (For Males Only)
Final Interview

Final Interview is being taken when a candidate pass all the tests mentioned above in front of the Selection Board. This selection board consists of Psychologist, Medical Specialists, 02 external senior experienced officers and one Deputy President.

In this interview, a security notice is already being sent to the medical service corps for information. A candidate has to prepare questions of different nature including subject tests. Final Medical Tests
  • After passing final interview, a candidate is directed to the nearest Combined Military Board Examination where he has to give all necessary medical tests including Hepatitis A, B & C. In this regard a subordinate commands is also being informed.
  • COVID 19 test is also taken.
Basic & Military Training
  • Those candidates who clear all the tests and get final call letter, then they report to the further Army Medical College for basic professional training where proper health care facilities are provided. Then these trainees are being sent to the Pakistan Military Academy, Abbottabad for 22 weeks.
Basic Scale and Salary of M Cadet
  • Basic pay scale of the M-Cadet in Army Medical Corps after passing out falls under BPS-17 and salary starts from more than 50K in Pakistani Rupees.
Additional Information
  • Bond: Finally selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve the Army for a minimum period of 7 years. The applicability of bond will commence on successful completion of basic Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul.
